It is being reported by the Louisville Courier Journal that UK might have lost recruit Draymond Green. Draymond is a junior from Saginaw, Michigan. Draymond had committed to UK last month. His mother is reporting that Draymond will now consider all options since Tubby has left.
UK signee MIke Williams from Alexandria, Virginia might also be reconsidering. His high school coach has informed the media that Mike is "waiting to see who is named coach" at UK before deciding his future.
On a positive note, it appears that Mitch Barnhart is at least trying to help with recruiting. The Courier Journal is reporting that the families of both Patrick Patterson and Jai Lucas have confirmed that they have been contacted by Barnhart since the departure of Tubby Smith. Both families refused to elaborate on the nature of the contact, but I am happy to hear that Mitch is making an effort.
Elizabethtown senior Steffphon Pettigrew still appears to be interested in UK if they hire the right coach, and if the new coach is interested in him. Steffphon is the favorite to win the coveted Mr. Basketball award in Kentucky this year. As you might be aware, Tubby didn't show much interest in recruiting Steffphon. Tubby never offered him a scholarship and appeared to be trying to get Steffphon to walk on at UK. This was just another example of Tubby not recruiting the state of Kentucky very well.
