Outfielder Chris Denorfia has been diagnosed with a torn ligament in his throwing elbow and will have reconstructive surgery. He will be sidelined approximately 6 months. Gary Majewski has also been experiencing soreness in his pitching shoulder and has been sent down to AAA Louisville.
Also, Bobby LIvingston has been sent down to AAA and appears out of the running for the fifth spot in the pitching rotation, at least for now. This leaves Matt Belisle and Kirk Saarloos competing for the fifth spot.
