Ken Griffey, Jr. hit his 587th home run tonight in a 10-3 victory over Atlanta. Tonight's home run moves Junior past Frank Robinson and into sole possession of 6th place on the all-time home run list. Sammy Sosa currently sits in 5th place on the list with 602 career home runs.
Bobby Livingston turned in a decent performance on the mound for the Reds tonight. Bobby pitched 5 innings and gave up 8 hits and 2 earned runs. Livingston also went 4-4 from the plate with an RBI. Bobby earned the "W" and is now 2-0 this season for the Reds. The Reds just called up Livingston from AAA Louisville before the game. His last victory for the Reds came all the way back on June 1st against the Rockies.
Todd Coffey was also able to come into the game tonight and get an out without allowing any hitters to get a home run or even get on base. Todd only faced one batter, but he was able to get him to fly out. I think that is pretty remarkable considering the way Todd has been pitching lately.
