My daughter had another soccer game on Tuesday night. Her team started off very slowly and fell behind 4-0 by halftime. In the second half things changed. Her team (Red Stars) scored 3 unanswered goals to start the second half. It became more of a defensive struggle the rest of the way with the other team scoring one more goal to make it 5-3 with 90 seconds left in the game. Then, with around 90 seconds left in the game my daughter scored a goal from the top of the penalty box. This made the score 5-4.
The Red Stars stole the ball again shortly after the opposing team's kickoff. Everybody knew that time was running down. So when my daughter eventually got the ball at midfield and started toward the opposing goal everybody on the sidelines started screaming for her to shoot. She shot the the ball from well outside the penalty box and hooked it into the right side of the goal. It was a fantastic shot. The game ended in a tie as the ref blew the whistle about 15 seconds after the other team kicked off. I was a very proud father again.
