12/14/07: UK Basketball Update

1) Derrick Jasper's return to the UK lineup might have suffered a setback yesterday. It is being reported that Jasper left practice yesterday with "sharp pain" in his surgically repaired left knee. His status for Saturday's game against UAB is uncertain.

2) The Detroit News is reporting that Alex Legion will transfer from UK and is considering going to Notre Dame, Arkansas, Illinois, or Michigan. Alex told the Detroit News that despite what UK coach Gillespie said in recent interviews, Alex never considered returning to UK after the initial reports of his desire to transfer had surfaced.

3) Former Kentucky Wildcat Rekalin Sims has been dismissed from the Fresno State basketball team.

4) UK Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart has signed a 5 year extension to remain at the University of Kentucky through 2012. There had been rumors that the University of Washington was interested in Barnhart to fill its currently vacant AD position.
