The Cincinnati Reds suck (again).
I guess that really isn't news, huh?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cincinnati manager Dusty Baker had a "one on one" meeting with team owner Bob Castellini after Wednesday night's embarrassing loss to the Pirates. There is no word yet as to what was discussed in that meeting, but Dusty's job is said to still be safe (darn). The Reds currently have a record of 39-47 and sit firmly in last place of the NL Central, 12.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs.
Those of you that follow MLB probably know that Dusty used to be the manager of the Cubs. Baker's last season with Chicago was 2006, when the Cubs finished the season in last place of the NL Central with a record of 66-96. Lou Piniella replaced Dusty as the manager of the Cubs in 2007 and led the club to a first place finish in the Central with a record of 85-77. Lou is still the manager in Chicago and the Cubs are again in first place of the NL Central with a record of 51-34 this season. Coincidence???

It was announced yesterday that Cincinnati Reds SS Alex Gonzalez will undergo season ending knee surgery on Monday.
